1928 Limited Edition Fountain Pens

The 1928 Limited Edition   --  The Twenties were an age of fresh starts. Take Wihelm Riepe in Hamburg. It was on 24 October, 1928 that he founded the "Tintenkuli Handels GmbH", laying the cornerstone for what would later become the international company of today: rotring.

After discovering the "stylograph" in America, Riepe developed it into the ballpoint pen he called the "Tintenkuli". The name stuck: even today "Kuli" is a byword for an entire genus of writing instruments throughout the German-speaking world.  From the mid-Thirties, Riepe practiced genuine image advertising by giving his growing product line a distinctive red ring - hence the name "rotring". Eventually, in 1972, the entire company was renamed "rotring-Werke Riepe KG".  Now, as a tribute to the founding of the company, the rotring 1928 is being issued in a limited, numbered edition of 1,928 items. This luxury pen unites historical design with modern technology. Its classical reservoir and nib unit can be interchanged at will. With its superior materials such as celluloid, a medium nib of 18K gold with rhodium-plated decor, and elegant gold-plated details, it is guaranteed to satisfy the most discerning user.
