A unique creation, inspired by the purest and most noble sentiments that come from the bottom of the soul and are embodied in this jewel for collectors. A precious work of art, this is a pen with a firm stroke and secure grip, strong like the columns of St. Peter's Basilica. The papal coats-of-arms engraved on the gold plated cap show the eagle, the first symbol known to have been used as an emblem by Pope Innocent III, and the cross with the letter M, which stands for Mary, symbolising the Pope elected in 1978. The barrel is made of a precious variegated marble coloured material, especially created by Aurora, that evokes the columns of St. Peter's. This carefully and expertly hand-crafted writing instrument, which is made even more precious by the name XXV I. Paulus II (meaning Pope John Paul II) engraved on the ring between the jewel clip and the head, is the first to incorporate a metal grip. The fountain pen version has an 18kt solid gold nib and features the piston refill and hidden reservoir mechanism. MSRP $1600.
