Paying homage to Catalan Modernism, Caran d' Ache has created this work of art as part of its Private Collection.  Each pen is constructed of solid silver bathed in rhodium.  The blue and yellow diamonds are inlayed enamel.  There were 1888 pieces made for world-wide distribution. The number 1888 is a symbolic date in the history of Modernism.  The creators of this work of art were inspired by the exotic designs and polychrome mosaics which were typical of Modernism, an artistic movement which was born in Barcelona at the turn of the 19th Century.
